What is Babylon Toolbar Virus?
Babylon Toolbar is a nasty add-on to your Internet browser which is known to alter your homepage to its' own – search.babylon.com. Also, this website is displayed whenever you open a new tab. Once installed, Babylon Toolbar changes your main search engine to Babylon Search. This adware is frequently redirecting your search queries to search.babylon.com. These symptoms may indicate that your personal data and browsing behaviors is exposed to third parties, including cyber criminals and spammers.
Babylon Toolbar is known to infect Internet Explorer, Google Chrome as well as Mozilla Firefox browsers. The most common way of getting Babylon Toolbar installed onto your computer is via software packages, which have Babylon Toolbar bundled with them.
Although this virus has its' uninstall entry in Windows Control Panel, it is never completely removed from your computer. Therefore, we highly suggest that you perform an additional scan with a certified antispyware application to make sure you no longer have any traces of Babylon Adware.

Thank you so much, Babylon irritated me SO much and it’s on my new laptop so the fact that I couldn’t use websites very long without it switching to a babylon “this page does not exist” site irritated me to the point of wanting to throw something. I’m so glad you put this information up for grabs, thank you.
thnk u so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you I will give this a try and let you know the results.
One other question is how do I learn more “fix” solutions so that I can minimize my calls to my friends. I am not a total disaster with computers but I would like to know more.
Donald
THANK YOU!!! THE TEAM AT BABYLON SHOULD BE PUT ON TRIAL FOR DOING THIS and if the jury was those of us who cant figure out how to get rid of it.
They would be put to death by hammers and pitchforks!
thanks a lot. for doing this. It means the world to those of us who have been bullied by that disgusting company.
It may have been plusfollower.info that did this.
now i need to see if it worked.
Babylon doesnt even come up in uninstall programs and I am so anoyed with this babylon bullshit!!!
i will do a full scan and a quick scan with the spy hunter 4 but it stops at around 72%? please help me guys
Hi Dylan,
please restart your computer and try the scan again. It may be some application running that is causing the scan to freeze.
I am going to try this. Bless you for the instructions.
Well done…………..
Thank you, Thank you,Thank you Adam G, it was driving me insane..!!!
I decided to download the SpyHunter because I didn't want to do it ther other way and accidently delete an important file or something like that, it went through the scan and told me a million things were wrong with my computer, so I clicked fix and saw that you needed to pay for it to fix all the problems. So I exited it because I already have antivirus software installed (McAfee). And I decided to check if McAfee could solve the problem and it says that my computer is completely fine.. But that doesn't solve the Babylon problem.
Now I'm going through all of my programs to see what I I need to uninstall from my computer, and nothing is helping and Babylon still shows up. Can anyone help??
Hi Katie,
antivirus and antispyware programs generally aim at different types of malware and their engines work a bit differently. Antiviruses may not detect certain malicious apps such as toolbars or adware add-ons while anti-spyware apps may not detect some heavy viruses or rootkits. Therefore it is advised to keep both antivirus and antispyware programs running all the time for the best protection.
If you do not see the uninstall entry in the Control Panel, you should make sure that none of Babylon’s files and registry keys are residing in your PC.
Thank you so much!!!
Do u have to download it to delete it
If you wish to do everything by yourself, you do not have to download anything. However, SpyHunter is designed to do the removal automatically for you, so you don’t have to get your hands dirty 🙂
HI can not find it uninstall programs but it stuck on my search pages
Hi Richard,
have you removed BabylonToolbar folder as well as the registry keys as per instructions? Just to make sure, you can download SpyHunter to check if there are any remains left. The scan won’t cost you a penny, however if you want to perform a complete removal of the virus, you will have to purchase the program.
Not able to register after downloading spyhunter 4
