Dropbox has been in the center of attention again because hackers have leaked hundreds of Dropbox passwords on a Reddit thread, with a note that there are much, much more passwords available. Dropbox denied that their servers were hacked, explaining that the passwords were obtained through other online services. Since many people tend to use one password for multiple online accounts, it’s rather easy to guess the password of a specific online service.
While Dropbox stated, that it was not their services that got hacked and the disclosed accounts had their passwords reset by the company, we still urge everyone to use a two-factor authentication if possible. Also, it is a very bad practice to use a single password for multiple accounts, so you should put some effort into creating hard to guess passwords.
