How do I remove qone8 from ny windows 8 computer? For starters it does NOT show up when I try add/remove progs and I can only assume that I must buy a programme to remove it then?
Hi Jay,
in this case you should also perform a full registry search for any keys or values mentioning “Qone8”. If it’s a key, remove it, if it’s a value, clear it.
There is absolutely no need to buy an antispyware program to remove Qone8 if you want to do it manually. But if you want to eliminate the infection completely in an automated manner, SpyHunter will do the trick.
Hello Adam G.,
Thanks for your efforts with Qone8.
I did all you suggested and many more things, including going into about:config in Firefox, and also removing Qone8 from the shotcut.
I also tried to use Tools>Manage Addons>Searches in Internet Explorer, but Qone8 won't let me delete it. "Delete" is greyed out.
I also did a search of the computer and removed all files with Qone8 in their names. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox (but you can't do that with IE).
However, I just discovered that Qone8 put itself back into the "Target" line of the shortcut to Firefox, so it's still around somewhere. I don't download and run any third-party unknown software. Is there anyone from amajor security vendor who can vouch for you. I'm sorry to be so distrustful, but once burned … By the way, I got Qone8 while trying to download Start8. There was a confusing set of buttons and I hit the wrong one. Shame on Start8.

I accidentally installed this, with the Daemon Tools Lite installation.
