    At last!

Someone who knows what they are talking about!

A slip of the mouse 5 months ago left me stuck with this unpleasant piece of malware and although I was able to get around it, it was always lurking in the background. Following a recent PC optimization and spring clean I decided to tackle it head on and after following a lot of blind alleys and advice that wasn't low-level enough I searched for "Searchnu registry" and was brought here. Not all the registry entries you mention were there, (on a WIndows 7 32 bit PC) but enough were, plus I had to look elsewhere for AppData, but I found it, finally rooted out Searchnu and took out some malicious 'Babylon toolbar' rubbish at the same time.

Thanks for taking the time to post this advice. It's made a lot of difference to one reader at least!
