What is Windows Internet Guard?
Windows Internet Guard is a dangerous virus, classified as a rogue antivirus program. It was created with only one goal in mind – lure money out of unsuspecting computer users. It displays numerous warnings stating that your computer has been severely infected with viruses, keyloggers or trojans.
Whenever you launch an application, Windows Internet Guard virus may display a pop-up with the name of the app you're attempting to launch (shown below), indicating a possible infection. The real infection, however, is the rogue itself.
Another warning it may display indicates a possible theft of your bank account also showing your IP address to intimidate you.
Once installed, Windows Internet Guard sets itself to automatically run with Windows, and may restart your computer without any warning. If you try to remove any allegedly found infections with this app, it will ask you to activate it by paying at least $49.95 for a 6 month subscription (do NOT purchase it!).
